Volkswagen's Plans to a Fully-Electric Future


Volkswagen is highly thinking of an electric future. The company hopes to add 75 all-electric models by 2029. Most of these models will have developed on the MEB platform of Volkswagen.

The Volkswagen Group MEB platform (German: Modularer E-Antriebs-Baukasten; i.e., Modular Electric Propulsion Platform) is a modular car platform for electric cars developed by the Volkswagen Group and its subsidiaries. It has used in models of Audi, SEAT, Škoda and Volkswagen. The architecture is aimed to strengthen electronic controls and reduce the number of microprocessors, use new driver auxiliary technology and slightly change the way that cars are manufactured.


Future Plans

In an interview with Autoblog, Thomas Ulbrich, The board member of VW for electric mobility told that the efforts of the company to build an all-electric pickup-truck had stimulated interests of Volkswagen. 

According to this, Amarok would be all-electric in the future. 

Many companies around the world are highly thinking of all-electric vehicles as now. 


These efforts of Volkswagen would also stimulate the speed of world traveling to fully electric vehicles.
