Mercedes-Benz reveals AR displays for Upcoming S-class

A teaser video posted on Twitter by Mercedes-Benz shows an AR-HUD in the upcoming S-class. According to the video, that system can detect the traffic and shows how distant to the obstacles using coloured Augmented Reality indicators.



This system can rapidly give updates about the surrounding.

The system detects corners of the road and highlights them in red strips if the vehicle is too close to them or if the steering angle is not suitable for the curve.

Active lane-keeping assist also uses coloured indicators to suggest when enough steering lock has not been applied through a corner.



This system uses many more AR indicates to make the driver feel like the indicators are lively on the road. Such like destination markers, turning side on junctions.
As shown in the video, this shows road singes & other dash indicators too.

This AR system enables the driver to get notifications without moving eyes out of the road. Driver doesn't need to move eyes away to see the map or other indicators shown in a dashboard.
